Casting Grinding Balls

The cast grinding ball has good toughness, no loss of roundness, low wear and low breakage rate; the hardness of high chromium balls can reach HRC56-62; the hardness of medium chromium balls can reach HRC47-55; the hardness of low chromium balls can reach HRC45-52, the minimum production ø30mm, the maximum can produce ø130mm, widely used in various dry mills.

Cast steel balls are divided into ultra-high chromium cast balls, high chromium cast balls, medium chromium cast balls, low chromium cast balls and chromium-free cast balls

The chromium content of high chromium balls is greater than or equal to 10.0%. The carbon content is between 1.80% and 3.20%. According to national standards, the hardness of high chromium balls must not be less than 58hrc, and the impact value should be greater than or equal to 3.0j/cm2.

Medium chromium balls are specified with a chromium content ranging from 3.0% to 7.0%, and a carbon content between 1.80% and 3.20%. Its impact value should not be less than 2.0j/cm2.

Generally speaking, low chromium balls contain 0.5% to 2.5% chromium and 1.80% to 3.20% carbon. Therefore, according to the national standard, the hardness of the low chromium ball should be no less than 45hrc, and the impact value should be no less than 1.5j/cm2.
